Fake fouls in the fifth round of the KBL surged to 20.
KBL released the list of fake fouls in the fifth round of the 2024-2025 KCC professional basketball regular league on its integrated website (www.kbl.or.kr ) on the 20th.
Fake foul is an act of inducing a foul or deceiving a referee and a fan through excessive action. The KBL discloses relevant information after each round in order to alert players and ensure fair and trustworthy game management.
As many as 20 cases of fake fouls have been detected in the fifth round of this season. The number has surged compared to 10 cases in the fourth round. The figure is even higher compared with 17 cases in the first round, 15 cases in the second round and 15 cases in the third round.
In the fifth round, 17 fake fouls were found including Choi Hyung-chan (LG), Joel Cagoulan (KT), Park Moo-bin (Hyundai Mobis), Kim Joon-il (Gas Corporation), Lee Jung-hyun (Samsung), Jonghyun Lee (KCC), Lee Ho-hyun (KCC), Jeon Joon-beom (KCC), Moon Sung-gon (KT), Moon Jung-hyun (KT), Choi Boo-kyung (SK), Choi Sung-mo (Samsung), Lee Kwan-hee (DB), Kim Young-hyun (Jung Director), Asem Maray (LG), Johnny O'Brient (Jung Director), and Doo Kyung-min (LG). Lee Jung-hyun, Cagoulan, and Moon Sung-gon committed two fake fouls in the fifth round alone.
